HistoryFounded in 1973 by J. Donald Riney, the firm’s office was located in the old Green River Electric Building at Ninth and Allen streets in Owensboro, Kentucky. In 1976, the firm office moved to its current Veach Road location. From inception, Riney Hancock set out to be an uncommon firm dedicated to providing timely, quality services through commitment, excellence and innovation. With national accounting firm backgrounds, our founders wanted to establish a local firm with the resources of a national firm – to create a firm with the best of both worlds. The firm has six shareholders:
In 1987, when Joseph A. Hancock became president, the firm focused on becoming more of a regional firm; and in 1989 Riney Hancock merged with Roy Cobb, CPA, an Evansville, Indiana firm, which opened its doors in 1969 at 313 Southeast First Street. With offices in Owensboro and Evansville our firm is able to meet the financial and business needs of our clients in the tri-state area. Riney Hancock has been an active member of both the Evansville and Owensboro communities for over 38 years. If there is one word that encapsulates the spirit of Riney Hancock, it is commitment. In 1998 the firm formed an affiliated company, RiverCities Asset Management, LLC, a registered investment advisor. In 2010, the firm changed their name from Riney, Hancock & Co., PSC to Riney Hancock CPAs PSC, to better reflect who we are and what we do. |
