Riney Hancock CPAs is celebrating our 47th year of providing accounting and financial services and we are fortunate enough to continue to do so during these uncertain and difficult times. We know our communities are struggling and we want to help.
In honor of our 47 year anniversary and to help support the communities where we operate, Riney Hancock CPAs has committed to spending $47,000 over the next few weeks. These funds will be used in a variety of ways to benefit as many people and businesses as we can.
Last week we provided 150 boxed lunches from Great Harvest Bread Company to the Daniel Pitino Shelter soup kitchen, helping two essential businesses at the same time. One working daily to feed our community and one that serves meals and provides shelter to the homeless. Today, we are announcing that on Tuesday night we will provide 330 meals from Old Hickory Barbeque to the Salvation Army CANteen Ministry.
This Ministry was born from the 2018 water main break where teens from the Salvation Army summer program drove around and handed out bottled water. Since that time, a group of teenagers get together to prepare and hand out meals to under served parts of our community. They are now serving over 300 people on Tuesday and Thursday nights with a large part being kids. If they can do it, we can do it. Without those teenagers and all those working every day to help others, our community would not be as strong.
Take some time to say thank you if you see someone out there working to keep our community going. Hopefully, our contribution will encourage other businesses and individuals to do the same.
