He manages and reviews the preparation of various federal, state, and local tax returns. He assists clients in disputes with various tax jurisdictions and provides advice on structuring business transactions in a tax efficient manner. His diversified public accounting background also includes significant involvement in audits of electric cooperatives, utilities, and governmental entities. Prior to joining the firm, he spent five years as a chief financial officer of a major independent coal mining company employing approximately 200 persons and having annual gross revenues ranging from $40 to $50 million. He had total responsibility for financial reporting, cash management, and tax planning functions, and negotiated terms with customers, financial institutions, insurance providers, and vendors. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
